REVIEW: Lush almost empties

I'M BACK!

I'm feeling MOTIVATED to write about something I've been promising I'd do for a while hehehe, so here I am, with fab pictures, my sense of humour and confusion and my usual Friends related joke.s

As I said before in a previous LUSH review, I've only just got into baths. I also hate spending extra time doing things, when I could be spending that time doing nothing in bed. So already I limit myself on the things I'd buy at LUSH, and add to that the fact I hate spending money, and it's not the shop for me.

But alas. When I was stuck in Lapland in that depressing period between Christmas and NYE, someone had some Snow Fairy with them. You must know that this smells like little drops of heaven.

This, coupled with the fact I'd just been paid and there was nothing to spend my money on in the hotel apart from Pringles, inspired me to instead spend too much money on some nice new LUSH products. None of the products I brought that day had I ever used before, so this review is proper fresh, and new (innit man).

- Snow Fairy - shower gel (100ml) - £1.98 (sale price)
Lets get this one over and done with. This smells amazing - and if you disagree, sorry, but you're wrong. It smells like candyfloss, and sugar, and sweetness and just it literally makes you smell like you're a fairy. Who wouldn't want that? It does seem quite expensive at £1.98 for a small bottle, but mine has barely gone down! I normally only use it when I've had a harsh gym session to make me feel extra good about working out, but this isn't always the case. It lathers up really well especially if you put it on one of those shower pooofy things? What are they called?

- Silky Underwear - Dusting Powder (60mg) - £4.75
GAME. CHANGER. When I brought this, to be honest, I had no idea what it was. I brought it thinking it might be cool, and because someone had said to put it on a pillow to help you sleep. I don't use it for that though. It's kind of like Talc, but better. It has cocoa butter in so it makes your skin so silky smooth, and the jasmine makes it smell incredible. I normally use it after a shower or bath, as it makes me feel extra clean and sparkly. I've even managed to get my aunty hooked on to it and she uses it after she's been swimming! I will definitely be re-buying this one, although it looks like it's going to last a while as it's lasting foreeeever!!

Another game changer. Again, when I brought this I didn't know, I didn't understand and I thought I would hate it as I really don't like peas. Why did I buy this?? Maybe I was just drawn to it, and I'm really glad that I was! It's like a powdered down toothpaste, you dampen ya toothbrush, dip it in the powder and brush your teeth as normal. It really does make your mouth feel squeaky clean! And for people that don't like minty things - I know a few - this is really great! The only thing I worry about with it is that it doesn't contain any fluroide, and I am low on it anyway. So what I do to get round this is alternate it with 'normal' toothpaste and drink my usual colossal amount of water. I want to try the pink one of this next, as I know it tastes like the bubblegum lip balm stuff but don't know if this will make my mouth feel clean? Anyone tried it?

This was the most expensive item I brought in the whole of my shop from LUSH. And I'm not too sure about it. It's got garlic in - which I LOVVVVVEEEE. Although normally I am eating it. It doesn't smell particularly garlicky, which is good I guess. I put it on before I went out for a meal (I forgot, it wasn't some attempt at a new perfume or summat) and my friend said she couldn't really smell it so that's good! It also makes your skin feel so fresh! But it's so fiddly to put on, it's like lumpy custardy jelly... with garlic in? It's a pretty skank consistency to be honest, and is a real pain to try and smooth it across your skin. But it did make me feel pretty fresh and my skin go less red! I think I will want to try the other face masks first though, does anyone have an recommendations? I like peel off ones *inserts smirking emoji*

I thought I was so hilarious putting my cactus with shaving foam product.. until I stabbed myself in the arm with it which bloody hurt. Oops. Anyway, I brought this because I always dry shave and always cut my legs up like they've been in a shredder and end up so dry and painful. So I thought I'd get this to help my legs get a big smoother! It didn't. In fact I think it's made things worse. It's like a weird mousse thing which doesn't spread, clogs up the shaver to make them unusable and smells like shoes. I was really excited about this product as well. I use it now as a body cream really to make my skin a bit smoother. Not really worth the £6 and wouldn't buy it again.

Finally. The worst thing I've ever brought from LUSH. I mean it smells lovely. And that's about it for me. It is a nightmare to put on your hair, it doesn't lather at all well so it's hard to know how well it's gone in your hair. As you can see I split in half to make it slightly easier, but I'm sure that 95% of it has gone down the plughole in my shower. It does make my hair feel slightly softer, but nothing that Aussie Leave In Conditioner doesn't do, for the same price and a much better product! And I used to use it everyday, but then one day I washed my hair with it before we went out for a meal, I was in the shower for ages, shaving ma legs, scrubbing ma face and making sure I got it all out of my hair. I never dry my hair with a hairdryer so I went to the meal, and someone looked at me and jokingly said 'Mel, when was the last time you washed your hair?!' I went into the loo and looked in the mirror and honestly, I looked like I hadn't washed it in about a month!! I think it was product build up but its really put me off using it and made me feel on edge. Definitely won't be repurchasing, I'm migrating towards BIG shampoo, samples to try out this week!!

So there's the products I brought from LUSH and am almost getting to the end of some of them, sob sob, Ultrablast.

Does anybody have any recommendations I should get from LUSH next?
We don't have a LUSH on the Island so I normally do a biggish shop in one go haha, sorry bank balance!

  1. Oh wow, these products sound interesting. I just started buying stuff from lush and have only tried their face washes and the daddyo shampoo however, I'm quickly becoming hooked! The toothpaste sounds interesting...

  2. I love the sound of Silky Underwear. I'm not quite sure how I'd use it but I'm sure I'd find a way. I didn't get on with D'Fluff either, I couldn't get it to spread over my skin.
It's a shame you didn't get on with Jungle though - I love it, as you know already from my post!!

    1. It's really great for everything! I use it most mornings as it makes my skin feel fresh, soft and it smells really nice hehehe. No it's a weird one isn't it? It's a very odd consistency!

I do love the smell of Jungle though - was a great air freshener haha! Although I left it in the shower the other day, someone thought it was old soap and chucked it away :'( Still gutted!!
